Bertie Kaye Salyer, MA, AME, LSW, is currently Public Health Director of the Magoffin County Health Department where she has served since 1999. She has had a long and distinguished career in the field of social work and family health. Ms. Salyer worked as a social worker and social work supervisor with the KY Cabinet for Human Resources. She taught sociology and social work and served as Chair of the Division of Social Sciences and Related Technologies at Prestonsburg Community College. Additionally, she has served in many roles including the Chair of the Kentucky Executive Branch Ethics Commission, Chair of the Magoffin County Development Authority, member of the Board of Directors of Kentucky Rural Health Association, the Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Prevention Board, and the American Red Cross Regional Board, and in numerous other positions.
