Linda Linville, Ph.D, is the Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs at the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education. She is responsible for the lung and cancer research funded pass-through programs and the accountability reporting of both fiscal and programmatic activities. She coordinates the Kentucky Public Health Advisory Group, Statewide Joint Engineering Programs, the Kentucky STEM Task Force, and serves as the staff for the Project Lead the Way Initiative collaborative in Kentucky. She is responsible for the programs of the Knowledge-Based Economy Programs, as well as economic development activities. She administers a number of grants and contracts, including the statewide STEM Task Force and Economic Development Policy Academy on Energy, and Regional Stewardship involving institutional support in civic engagement and experiential learning.
Dr. Linville earned her doctorate in Counseling Psychology at UK and did her clinical training at Emory University. She has taught in both secondary and postsecondary education and has served as a preceptor for medical students. She has been with UK’s Markey Cancer Center for 22 years, directing community outreach and education to reduce the burden of health-related morbidity and mortality. She is passionate about patient advocacy and the provision of medical navigation.
Dr. Linville reviews grant submissions to the National Cancer Institute and the Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. A graduate of the Kentucky Public Health Leadership Institute, she serves on the advisory boards of a number of statewide health advocacy organizations.
